B.I.G. Equity Black Philanthropy Month Celebration
Each August, the world comes together to celebrate Black Philanthropy Month, a time dedicated to highlighting the impactful philanthropic efforts within the African American community. This significant month, founded by the visionary Dr. Jackie Bouvier Copeland in 2011, serves as a powerful reminder of the community’s dedication to giving and support. This year, despite a weather-induced delay pushing the celebration to October 2nd, The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro (CFGG) hosted a memorable B.I.G. Equity Black Philanthropy Month Celebration at the elegant Proximity Hotel. The event, masterfully organized by Crystal Brisbon of Distinction Events and Design, featured an inspiring keynote by Dr. Tyrone McKinley Freeman of the BIG Equity Fund. His captivating presentation delved into the enriching legacy of Madam C.J. Walker, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
As the lead photographer, I had the privilege of capturing the vibrant energy and interactions among the attendees, many of whom were familiar faces from CFGG and other esteemed organizations within the philanthropic sphere. Crystal's vision for the event was clear: to encapsulate the genuine connections and candid moments shared throughout the evening. I also focused on the intricate details of the event—from the delicious cuisine to the dynamic speakers on stage, each shot telling a story of its own. Collaborating with CFGG is always an honor, and I am deeply grateful to Crystal for entrusting me with the task of capturing this prestigious event through my lens.
